July 23, 2009 In 2005 Governor Corzine made a commitment to reduce the number of NJ state cars. Today, New Jersey owns fewer vehicles than it did in 2004, about 1,000 less. This year the Governor ordered the recall of an additional 445 passenger vehicles. By eliminating these vehicles from the fleet the state will save about $1.1 million annually in maintenance costs. The recalled cars will be sold at auction and generate about $500,000.

May 28, 2009 Amid tears of joy and tender embraces, the first soldiers of the 50th Infantry Brigade Combat Team returned home from Iraq on Memorial Day celebration. By June 12th, all 2,800 will be home. Their deployment was the largest in NJ since WWII. Governor Corzine was there when the soldiers left; visited them in Texas and Iraq; and was waiting on the tarmac when they returned home.
