Asked Questions about the 2008 Application Process

All applications have been sent electronically
to the county superintendents’ offices and have
been passed on to all high schools.
-
To be eligible for the New Jersey Governor’s
Schools, an applicant must have completed the Junior year
of high school during the 2007-2008 school year, and expect
to be a Senior for the 2008-2009 school year.

Completed applications must be received
by the county superintendents’ offices
by November 27, 2007. This year the
county offices will only check for completeness and
will forward
all completed
applications
directly
to the schools by December 14, 2007. Each
program will make the final decision on applicants based
on criteria developed
by the
program and send decision letters to all finalists by April
of 2008.

If applicants are unable to submit junior year PSAT scores
by the deadline submission date, they can forward them
directly to
the college. Schools can submit 2006 (sophomore) PSAT
scores and then forward the 2007 PSAT scores directly to the
college.
- New Jersey residents who
attend out-of-state high schools or are home schooled will submit their
applications directly to:

An applicant is eligible to apply for only
one Governor's School.

Each high school is allowed one applicant
for each school for every 325 juniors with the exception
of the School of the Arts. Please see page
15 of the School of the Arts Application for more information.
