Core Courses

Physics
Introduction to physics emphasizing biological and ecological applications using algebra, trigonometry and pre calculus. Selected topics in mechanics, thermodynamics, waves, electricity, magnetism, optics and modern physics.

Statics
The classification of systems of forces and their resultants; geometrical and analytical conditions for the equilibrium of force systems and rigid bodies; equations of motion, principles of work and energy, linear and angular impulse and momentum.

Calculus
Study of analytic geometry, differential calculus, applications and introductory integral calculus with emphasis on the analysis and solution of problems and on mathematical exposition.

Chemistry
Introduction to chemical principles and their application. Includes stoichiometry, states of matter, atomic and molecular structure, solutions, thermodynamics, equilibrium, oxidation-reduction, kinetics, nonmetals, metals and coordination compound and nuclear chemistry.
