Weekly Schedule

  • There is a core curriculum of seven courses that includes biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, psychology, and physics. These courses are taught in the morning.
    Physics, biology, and chemistry laboratories are held two afternoons a week. Each offers current, innovative experiments. Each student selects one lab course.
  • Elective courses are offered twice a week in the evenings. These are intended to enrich the curriculum by addressing topics of current interest in science.
  • Two afternoons a week are set aside for work on team projects. Students work in small teams under faculty guidance on research topics. Students also work on team projects during free time on weekends.
  • Evening colloquium speakers present views of modern science from both industrial and academic viewpoints. Weekly small group seminars are held following each colloquium for integrative discussion of the talks.
  • Field trips are scheduled on a weekly basis to local science labs and sites.
  • During free evenings and weekends, there is time for study as well as recreation on the campus. Entertainment on campus includes films and the Shakespeare Festival. Special events include a college fair and career morning.
  • Sunday is also set aside for family visits, worship, and recreational activities.
