There are four units responsible for the NJDOH cancer initiatives:

There are two units responsible for NJDOH cancer epidemiology services:

  • New Jersey State Cancer Registry (NJSCR): is a population-based cancer registry dedicated to tracking the occurrence of cancers within the state that contains information on all cancer cases including the type of cancer, race, gender, age and residence at diagnosis, first course of treatment, and survival.
  • New Jersey Cancer Research Program: collaborates on and conducts cancer research studies,¬†publishes findings in scientific journals, analyzes data from the NJSCR and produces statewide cancer incidence, mortality and speciality reports with other Department staff.
