There are two categories of disease reporting. Some diseases are required to be reported immediately by telephone upon identification by a laboratory or by diagnosis of a health care provider. Other diseases are reportable within 24 hours of identification by a laboratory or by diagnosis of a health care provider. The resources provided under “Which diseases and conditions must be reported” indicate which disease fall into these two categories.
