The following tables contain numbers of births to New Jersey residents by municipality of residence of the mother for the years 1989 through 1997. Data for more recent years are available on another page.

Birth data based on standardized addresses for 1989 through 1996 were available as of October 20, 1998. Any data for these years issued prior to that date may have been revised.

Starting with the 1997 data, the methodology for assigning births to municipalities changed. Consequently, there may be some inconsistencies with prior years, aside from what would be expected to occur due to random variation.

The following 25 municipalities (county in parentheses) are not included in the tables due to very small numbers of births to residents of those municipalities (fewer than 5 births in any of the years 1989 through 1997):
