Acting Deputy Commissioner
Alison Gibson is the Acting Deputy Commissioner of Health Systems. She formerly served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Assistant Commissioner of the Division of Health Facilities Survey and Field Operations.
She is responsible for management of the Health Systems Branch. The Branch includes major hospital funding programs such as Charity Care, Graduate Medical Education and the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment Program. Gibson also oversees inspections and enforcement of regulations for approximately 2000 licensed New Jersey health care facilities, as well as the Certificate of Need program. Prior to coming to the Department, she gained over twenty years of hospital inpatient and outpatient clinical and managerial experience in New Jersey. She is a registered nurse, a graduate of Dundee University, Scotland and received both a BS in Nursing and master’s degree in Public Administration from Rutgers University, Camden.
