Nutrition and Fitness

Good eating habits, proper nutrition and physical fitness are essential for good health.

Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC): Each year about 250,000 New Jersey women, infants and children receive supplemental foods, nutritional education and counseling, and access to healthcare through this program.

The New Jersey Obesity Prevention Action Plan is the beginning of a statewide, coordinated effort to support and enhance obesity prevention among New Jersey residents. The Action Plan was developed based on the work and recommendations of three sub-committees: education, nutrition and physical activity, established by the Obesity Prevention Task Force.
