NJ OWH

Director: Nuris Rodriguez, MSW

Established by law, PL2001, Chapter 376, on January 8, 2002, the OWH is located within the New Jersey Department of Health, Division of Family Health Services. It acts as the lead agency in state government for women’s health, in coordination with other public and private non-profit agencies that aim to improve the health and quality of life of New Jersey women.

The NJ OWH is part of a network of women’s health offices throughout the country. As part of Region II of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office on Women’s Health, the New Jersey OWH participates in monthly conference calls with New York, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, facilitated by the regional women’s health coordinator.
