2009 Training Event Coverage

On May 27, 2009, the New Jersey Department of Health co-sponsored a training event for New Jersey healthcare providers. On the Front Lines of Perinatal Mood Disorders: Practical Strategies for Healthcare and Social Services Providers offered attendees a comprehensive guide to identifying mental health issues in pregnant women and new mothers.

Perinatal mood disorders touch virtually all women, whether it’s the baby blues or postpartum depression, but women who give birth in New Jersey are luckier than most because it is the only state that mandates screening for postpartum depression.
