The Program works to protect health by reducing the public’s exposures to mold, asbestos- containing materials, lead-based paint hazards, and many other indoor environmental pollutans.
The Program has three major projects:
Technical Support and Research Project
Consults on construction, redevelopment and other projects where hazardous substances are present. Conducts research studies on the potential health risks of exposures to environmental contaminants.
Training and Certification Project
Trains and certifies workers to conduct lead and asbestos inspections and abatement projects.
Compliance Assistance Project
Provides information to help contractors, schools, and others conduct projects that comply with federal and state law and regulation. Field inspectors may help manage environmental hazards.
