2NDFLOOR Confidential Help for Youth and Young Adults

If you are between the ages of 10 and 24, live in New Jersey, and need to talk about an issue or problem that you are facing, call or text 888-222-2228 to reach 2NDFLOOR. 2NDFLOOR is a confidential and anonymous helpline for New Jersey's youth and young adults. 2NDFLOOR will help you find solutions to the problems that you face at home, at school or at play.

  • If you are in crisis and need immediate help, please call the New Jersey Suicide Prevention Hopeline at 1-855-654-6735. The service is available to all ages for confidential telephone support, assessment, and referral. Crisis chat is available through the website and the service can be reached at njhopeline@ubhc.rutgers.edu.
  • Screening and Screening Outreach Programs are available in each county 24-hours a day, seven-days a week to individuals of all ages in emotional crisis who require immediate attention.  An individual may be seen without an appointment, or be brought to the screening center by a parent, friend, spouse, law enforcement official, mental health worker, or any other concerned individual.
  • The Traumatic Loss Coalition aims to prevent suicide and provide trauma response assistance following suicide, homicide, and death from accidents and illnesses.
