TRENTON -- In honor of the 20th annual observance of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) will kick-off “New Jersey’s Statewide Pink Ribbon Campaign to End Breast Cancer” on the steps of the State House on Wednesday, September 29, 2004, at 12:00 Noon.
DHSS Commissioner Clifton R. Lacy, M.D. will be joined by female members of the legislature and the governor’s cabinet to support the statewide Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. This year’s recognition is sponsored by DHSS’ New Jersey Cancer Education and Early Detection (NJCEED) Program. The kick-off event will include the reading of a proclamation signed by the Governor, as well as details of “Paint the County Pink” events, which will be hosted throughout the state during the month of October.
