Clifton R. Lacy, M.D., Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, will hold a press conference to highlight New Jersey’s healthcare readiness efforts in preparation for the Republican National Convention.

The press conference will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday,  August 27th at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark.

Commissioner Lacy will be joined by John Petillo, Interim President of UMDNJ;  Armando Fontoura, Director, Essex County Office of Emergency Management;  Nancy Hamstra, Director, Emergency Medical Services, UMDNJ-University Hospital; William Gluckman, M.D., Emergency Medicine Physician, UMDNJ-University Hospital and Marsha McGowan, Health Officer/Director Personal Health Services, Newark Department of Health and Human Services.

The event will begin with a tour of public health, healthcare and emergency response equipment.

Take exit 15W to I-280 West to the Orange St./6th St. exit. Make the first right onto Orange St. and proceed one block to First St. Turn right and proceed about half a mile to West Market St., where First St. becomes Bergen St. Make a left on S. Orange Avenue.  Parking available in Parking Lot 1. 

From the Garden State Parkway North or South

Take exit 145 to I-280 East. Stay to the left to exit at First St. Turn right on First St.  and  continue across W. Market St., where First St. becomes Bergen St. Make a left on S. Orange Avenue. Enter through Medical School Building. Parking in Parking Lot 1.
