On Tuesday, September 27, Health and Senior Services Commissioner Fred M. Jacobs, M.D., J.D., will announce a program to make discount prescription drugs available to patients at all 67 of the state’s community health center sites.

As part of a series of Minority and Multicultural Health Month events in September, the Commissioner will discuss the program at a press conference at 1 p.m. at AtlantiCare Health Services’ Mission Health Care.  The center is located in the Atlantic City Rescue Mission at 2009 Bacharach Blvd, Atlantic City.

Joining the Commissioner at the event will be Don Parker, Vice-President of AtlantiCare Health Services; Sandy Festa, LCW, Project Director of Mission Health Care; and Steven Chang, RPh, owner and operator of Parkway Pharmacy in Atlantic City.

New Jersey’s community health centers offer a wide range of primary health care services for the entire family, and handle more than a million patient visits a year.  Centers serve the uninsured and underinsured, as well as patients with Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance.
