The Equal Employment Opportunity Officer and the staff of the Office of Diversity and Equity Services is responsible for the following:
Investigate complaints of discrimination presented by employees and applicants for employment with DHSS
Chair the department's Americans with Disabilities Act Committee responsible for reviewing reasonable accommodation requests from departmental employees
Review and or develop polices and procedures to ensure equal employment opportunity and affirmative action.
Monitor and review personnel transactions to ensure equal employment opportunity and diversity in the interview and selection process
Refer resumes of Protected Class Members to Division managers recruiting to fill vacancies in the department.
Assist in planning and implementing employee programs to promote diversity, celebrate differences and enhance internal networking opportunities.
