SUBJECT:     FEDERAL GRANT OPPORTUNITIES

The table below lists federal agency grant funding opportunities open to public and/or private higher education institutions which have been announced in the last week.  To get more information about a particular opportunity, click on the “Opportunity Title”.

On March 9, the ExxonMobil Foundation, in conjunction with the College Board, announced the creation of the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI). With grant support of $125 million from ExxonMobil, NMSI will provide funding to 150 school districts in 20 states to implement training and incentive programs for Advanced Placement (AP) and pre-AP courses, with the goal of increasing by 60,000 the number of students scoring 3 or higher on AP exams in math, science and English within the next five years.

NMSI is accepting applications from institutions of higher education interested in creating UTeach-type programs at their universities.  NMSI is also accepting proposals to replicate training and incentive programs for AP® and pre-AP® courses*.  NMSI will be accepting applications through April 27, 2007.  Learn more and apply for UTeach »
