Free Professional Development

In addition to academic support for students, NJ GEAR UP provides professional development opportunities for teachers in GEAR UP target schools by offering on-site customized training.

We encourage you to request FREE professional development for the current academic year. We are available to provide opportunities to learn new strategies, collaborate with peers, and create more effective classrooms and schools. To achieve this goal, NJ GEAR UP will:

• Identify, schedule, and pay for presenters and trainers
• Work with you to provide training that meets your needs
• Provide professional development hours (Provider #4706)

In return, we ask that your have at least 10 teachers participate in each training session and provide a contact person to assist with scheduling, room, allotted time for training (e.g., in-service days or hours), and equipment.

Scheduling

Any teacher at your school interested in attending a training session can participate regardless of the grade level they teach or their involvement in the NJ GEAR UP program. We encourage all teachers to participate.

Please complete the professional development request form to schedule a presenter as soon as possible. You can print and complete this form and fax it to (609) 292-7225.
