Seeking Consultants
to Conduct a Review of the
Special Needs Grant Program
The Commission is seeking consultants to conduct a review of
the Special Needs Grant Program. The grant program was established
in 1986 to provide support services for special needs students
and technical assistance to New Jersey colleges. The grant currently
funds eight regional centers located throughout the state.
The review will focus on three components of the grant: learning
disabilities, deaf and hard-of-hearing, and adaptive technology.
The instructions for submitting a proposal for the review activity
are outlined in the specific Request for Qualifications,
one for each component. Interested individuals may submit a proposal
for
any or all three components, but only one consultant or team
will be hired for each. Consultants may be awarded a contract
for only one component, though they are free to submit proposals
and compete for more than one component.
There are no conditions about where the consultant resides; the
person may live or work in- or out-of-state. However, if the consultant
is from NJ, the person should NOT have any affiliation with institutions
that house a regional center or have any other type of involvement
with the grant program or regional center.
