The Education of Language Minority Students
Grant Program

An Overview

Since 1988, the State of New Jersey has supported efforts to enhance services to language minority students at its colleges and universities.

The objective of the Education of Language Minority Students Grant Program is to provide seed money to develop or strengthen programs for language minority students who are residents of New Jersey. For Fiscal 2008, $450,000 was appropriated for this grant program.

Seven programs received awards for the Fiscal 2008-2009 cycle:

Cumberland County College Rutgers University - Newark Campus
Essex County College Union County College
New Jersey City University William Paterson University of NJ
Rowan University
