An Overview

From 1988 until 2009, the State of New Jersey supported efforts to enhance services to language minority students at its colleges and universities.   The State Budget for FY 2010 did not include funding for this program.

The objective of the Education of Language Minority Students Grant Program was to provide seed money to develop or strengthen programs for language minority students who are residents of New Jersey.

Seven programs received awards for the Fiscal 2008-2009 cycle:

Cumberland County College Rutgers University - Newark Campus
Essex County College Union County College
New Jersey City University William Paterson University of NJ
Rowan University
