| Program Description: |
| | A joint venture with local public schools, Montclair State University's Future Educators of America Chapter works |
| | with New Jersey Network for Educational Renewal districts to identify promising students and encourage them to |
| | consider teaching careers. The program promotes achievement by supporting high standards, positive self-image, |
| | and leadership at school and in the community. A special feature of the clubs is the emphasis on assisting students in |
| | making a critical transition from high school to college. During meetings, guidance counselors help |
| | students prepare for the SAT and complete college applications. The University sponsors annual |
| | on-campus events for students and their teachers and helps students learn about the teaching profession. |
| In partnership with Gear Up Newark, The Future Educators of America Club at Montclair State University | |
| works closely with the Newark Public Schools at both the middle school and high school levels. |
