Program Description:

The Seton Hall University Upward Bound Project combines federal and private funding to offer academic, counseling

and cultural enrichment activities for disadvantaged, "at-risk" students in grades 9-12. The academic curriculum is

High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA)-based and conforms to the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content

Standards. The project provides a full-time, six-week Adventure Based Learning non-residential summer program

and a 24-week (Saturday only) academic year program for 200 low-income, first-generation high school students

from the cities of Newark, Orange, East Orange, Irvington, Elizabeth, and Plainfield, New Jersey.



Funding sources include the U.S. Department of Education and the State of New Jersey Department of Agriculture's

Bureau of Child Nutrition.
