| Program Description: |
| | Proyecto Science's mission is to identify middle and high school students with an interest and potential for careers in |
| | engineering, science, technology and other mathematics-related areas and to reinforce their pursuit of these fields. |
| | The goals of the program are to develop abstract reasoning and problem solving skills necessary for successful |
| | college studies in mathematics, to acquire hands-on experience in science, mathematics and engineering projects |
| | and to acquire expertise in the use of modern technology and the Internet as instruments for learning. Students |
| | participate in classes and activities related to mathematics, statistics, programming, robotics, engineering, music, |
| | photography, journalism, career awareness seminars and field trips. There is no charge for the students and |
| | several participating school districts provide transportation and lunch for their students. |
