Program Description:

The NJCU College of Education/ Union City Scholars Academy Summer program provides the opportunity for high

school students to spend a month during the summer on the NJCU campus. The purpose of the program is to provide

enrichment activities in literacy and mathematics and to expose the students to the college experience. While on

NJCU campus, the students also take a three credit college course. The high school students interact with NJCU

students who serve as mentors during the program. In addition, they are taken on two field trips including a trip to

see a Broadway play in New York City.
