| Program Description: |
| | The NJCU College of Education/ Union City Scholars Academy Summer program provides the opportunity for high |
| | school students to spend a month during the summer on the NJCU campus. The purpose of the program is to provide |
| | enrichment activities in literacy and mathematics and to expose the students to the college experience. While on |
| | NJCU campus, the students also take a three credit college course. The high school students interact with NJCU |
| | students who serve as mentors during the program. In addition, they are taken on two field trips including a trip to |
| | see a Broadway play in New York City. |
