| Program Description: |
| | The Salem County Robotics Team is affiliated with FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and |
| | Technology), a non-profit organization created to inspire an appreciation of science and technology in young people. |
| | High school students and technical mentors work as a team to design and build a robot that solves a problem using a |
| | common "kit of parts" and a standard set of rules. After building a new robot each winter, the Salem County team |
| | competes in regional and national events sponsored by FIRST. The FIRST Robotics Competitions bring together high |
| | school students, mentors, parents, and volunteers. |
