In 1989, the United States Congress declared the period from September 15 through October 15th Hispanic Heritage Month in an effort to acknowledge and celebrate the diverse culture, customs, and ethnicities of Hispanic communities throughout the country. The State of New Jersey recognizes that its Hispanic community has played a vital role in enhancing and contributing to the rich diversity of our state.

This year’s theme for Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations is: “Embracing the Fierce Urgency of Now”. Let us celebrate, honor and remember throughout this historic month of Hispanic Heritage.
