Information Systems Management (ISM) is the management unit for the federal Drug and Alcohol Services Information System (DASIS) which includes: the Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS), the Inventory of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (I-SATS), and supports the National Survey of Substance Abuse Services (N-SSATS) - an annual survey of all active treatment facilities. ISM is the primary source for quantitative reporting on our treatment population.
ISM is responsible for the State Outcomes Measurement and Management System (SOMMS) contract. This initiative will collect and report National Outcome Measures (NOMS) for substance abuse treatment in New Jersey .
This unit develops and operates major information systems such as the New Jersey Substance Abuse Monitoring System (NJ-SAMS) and is continuing to enhance support for substance abuse treatment clinics by introducing a web form version of the LOCI-2R (Level of Care Index) patient placement index which will make this instrument available within NJ-SAMS. This index supports the use of Patient Placement Criteria (ASAM PPC-2R) which are the most widely used and comprehensive national guidelines for placement, continued stay and discharge of patients with alcohol and other drug problems.
ISM supports DAS programs by developing and maintaining information systems which support program management in all operational units of the Division such as Drug Court , Intoxicated Driver Program, Substance Abuse Prevention Minimum Data Set and other programs.
