Programs for Persons with Disabilities
The following programs provide information on or provide prevention and/or treatment services for individuals who have a disability. Programs listed in the directory that are handicapped accessible and have services for people who are Deaf, hard of hearing and disabled are noted throughout the directory. New Jersey Statewide Coalition on Disabilities and Addictions, Alcoholism & Drug Abuse
The Statewide Coalition on Disabilities and Addictions is comprised of agencies that are interested in learning and sharing resources with other professionals about disabilities and addiction issues. This advisory coalition meets on a quarterly basis and the public is invited to attend this meeting.

Offers outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment programs, education, and support to individuals who are D eaf and hard of hearing experiencing problems with drugs and/or alcohol. Services are provided by culturally deaf staff.

Offers communication access to individuals who are Deaf and hard-of-hearing seeking alcoholism and drug addiction services, including interpreters for 12-step meetings, treatment and case management services, mobile counseling, information and referral, services for families, advocacy, and prevention programs. Trained counselors provide all services in ASL.

A statewide substance abuse prevention programs entitled "Roads2Recovery" designed to (a) prevent substance abuse in people with all types of disabilities, and (b) increase access to substance abuse services. Produced "Silent Storm" video and training manual "Removing Barriers: A Guide to Providing Substance Abuse Services to People with Disabilities." ( New Jersey Edition, 2004).
