The Division provides guardianship services for individuals, in order to protect their rights and to ensure appropriate care and treatment. Guardianship services are provided to help people with developmental disabilities, should it become necessary to act on their behalf because they do not have the capacity to make informed decisions, regarding health, living arrangements, etc. The Division also guides parents through the process to become legal guardians of their adult children.
