All Medicaid-eligible individuals who also are eligible for DDD functional services will be able to access the Supports Program, unless they are enrolled on the Community Care Waiver. The Supports Program is a Medicaid program, which requires individuals to maintain their Medicaid eligibility in order to continue to participate.
Updates on the Supports ProgramUpdate as of March 28, 2014:
The Division of Developmental Disabilities (Division) has released an Interim Policy Guide to Support Coordination.
This guide is intended to provide clarity on practices governing the delivery of Support Coordination services during the transition period to full implementation of the Supports Program and a fee-for-service system. These policies apply to all Support Coordination Agencies (and its personnel) currently working with “new presenters” and using the Individualized Service Plan (ISP). Some of these policies will change as ongoing Division-wide reform efforts are implemented in the coming months. The current standards will remain in place in the interim as established in this guide. Updates and revisions will be made as needed.
The Division is also in the process of developing comprehensive policy manuals for the Supports Program and the Community Care Waiver, based on the format of this manual. As such, the Division welcomes input from stakeholders related to this guide so we can continue to improve upon it as the reforms are further rolled out. Comments should be forwarded to: DDD.SuppProgHelpdesk@dhs.state.nj.us.
