Office of Information an Assistance Services
The Office of Information and Assistance Services was created to not only provide information, but also act as a single point of entry for callers to access the state human services system.
The Office was started to provide services to people with adult onset disabilities, a population whose needs had never been specifically addressed by any state government entity.
But staff can also assist New Jersey residents with any disability-related need.
OIAS has 3 service units...
The Office of Information an Assistance Services was created within DDS in 2003 to house the following service units:
Information and Referral Unit
NJ Traumatic Brain Injury Fund
Management Information Systems / DDS Webmaster
OIAS is now collaborating with DDD to help consumers...
In July 2009, the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) began transferring the first group of individuals from DDD case managers to DDS' OIAS, where their primary contact for all service-related questions will be nationally-certified Information and Referral Specialists.
