New Lisbon Developmental Center

New Lisbon Developmental Center, founded in 1914, is home to 463 developmentally disabled men and women. Using a philosophy called "Functional Lifestyles" it is completely dedicated to providing active treatment services within the context of a person-centered planning approach.

Residents live in cottages that maintain a home environment that reflects the interests and preferences of the individuals who live there. Treatment involves medications but there is a heavy emphasis on behavior modification. Sheltered work activities with equitable wages and diversified work sites provide a sense

of accomplishment for our residents and are a vital part of the interdisciplinary team approach to treatment .Since the beginnings of New Lisbon we have been committed to an evolving facility that continues to strive to improve the services and the environment for both our residents and our employees.
