Chiesa announces the launch of the New Jersey Prescription Monitoring Program (NJPMP) at a January 18, 2012 press conference, along with, from left, Mrs. Meg Dupont-Parisi; NJPMP Administrator James Mielo of the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs; Thomas R. Calcagni, Director of the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs; and Special Agent in Charge Brian R. Crowell of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency's New Jersey Division. The NJPMP is a powerful new tool in the State’s fight against the abuse and diversion of prescription drugs, and the often-heavy reimbursement costs of fraudulently-obtained prescription medication borne by health insurance companies, the State, and ultimately taxpayers.
