On September 5, 1979, Leon Louis Hammer was arrested for Impersonating a Public Servant, a Casino Control Commission Inspector. Specifically, while at the Boardwalk Regency Casino, Mr. Hammer presented himself to a Security Officer of the Boardwalk Regency Casino and attempted to gain an access badge for the casino. He advised the Security Officer that he was working for the Casino Control Commission. Mr. Hammer was issued an access badge but there is no indication that he attempted to gain or did gain anything of value while he was using this badge. On February 4, 1980, Mr. Hammer pled guilty in Atlantic County Municipal Court to the Disorderly Persons Offense of Impersonating a Public Servant. He was sentenced to thirty days in the Atlantic City Jail, the imposition of which was suspended and he was placed on probation for one year. He was fined $100, this fine also being suspended. He was also fined court costs of $15. Mr. Hammer is not known to have any prior criminal arrests.
