Louis Morelli was convicted on November
23, 1982, for illegal lottery and bookmaking in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania. He was also arrested on four additional occasions
for bookmaking, which offenses were dismissed. An affidavit by
Edward Recke, a special agent for the Pennsylvania Crime Commission,
states that Morelli has been involved in criminal activities and
closely associated with organized crime members and their associates
in the Philadelphia area; specifically, Nicodemo Scarfo, Philip
Leonetti, Salvatore Merlino, Nicholas Milano, Joseph Pungitore,
Anthony Pungitore, Sr., and Michael Madgin.
