The mission of the units that comprise the Forensic Investigations Bureau is, by their very nature, service oriented. These units provide investigative, technical and specialized expert assistance to the various units, bureaus and sections within the Division of State Police, as well as other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, upon request.

The Forensic Investigations Bureau is comprised of six (6) units:

• Auto Unit
• Ballistics Unit
• Crime Scene Investigations Units - North, Central and South
• Evidence Management Unit
• Forensic Photography and Composite Artist Unit
• Major Crime Unit
