Office of Forensic Sciences
About the Office of Forensic Sciences
The Office of Forensic Sciences (NJSPOFS@GW.NJSP.ORG) is a section within the New Jersey State Police Investigation Branch. The four regional crime laboratories and the DNA laboratory within the Office of Forensic Sciences are internationally accredited under ISO 17025 standards by the The American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors-Lab Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB). To be accredited a laboratory must meet over 500 ASCLD/LAB standards and adhere to a quality assurance program that includes document control, proficiency testing, validation of methods/instruments, audits, continuing education, training quality control, and utilization of up to date procedures. The quality assurance program established by the Office of Forensic Sciences ensures that the citizens of the State of New Jersey are provided timely forensic services of irrefutable quality.
