The New Jersey State Police is making visible the following profiles of unidentified persons/bodies recovered in the State of New Jersey. These cases have been entered into the National Crime Information Center (N.C.I.C.) unidentified person computer database for possible matches against the N.C.I.C. missing person computer database. However, if the individual has never been entered as missing by any agency then there will be no match. The purpose of placing these cases on the Internet is to reach a more diversified audience that might have knowledge about the identification of any one of these individuals.
Given the sensitive nature of the information presented within this site, every effort has been made to present it in a way that is not offensive or uncomfortable for the viewer. Use of the internet will greatly expand our reach in finding relatives or friends of these unidentified persons.
Images of clay reconstructions, computer enhancements/reconstructions and composite sketches may be presented. These fabricated images may not always resemble the individual as they actually appeared during life and are prone to error. They have been created to generate leads in the investigation and to enhance the possibility of successfully identifying any of these individuals.
Additional images may include retouched facial photographs, photographs of tattoos and/or personal effects found with the remains. These images may also aid in the identification of an unidentified person.
