State Police Arrest Five for Caesars Armed Robbery

Atlantic City, N.J. – An investigation led by the New Jersey State Police Casino Gaming Bureau resulted in the arrest of five people in connection with an armed robbery at Caesars Atlantic City Hotel and Casino.  Over the past several days, at various locations, investigators arrested Dwayne Morgan, 20, of Pleasantville, Izyiah Plummer, 19, of Atlantic City, Monique Kelly, 19, of Pleasantville, Aaron Evans, 23, of Pleasantville, and Lance Rogers, 20, of Atlantic City.

On July 21, at 6:20 a.m., two men wearing masks and gloves brandished a gun and robbed security personnel of two boxes containing money from inside the casino.  They then fled in a dark-colored sedan.

Following up on investigative leads, detectives obtained search warrants for residences in Atlantic City and Pleasantville.  As a result of the searches, detectives recovered a large portion of the money, and some articles of clothing believed to have been worn by the suspects during the commission of the crime.

Each of the individuals arrested have charges ranging from Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Weapons Offenses, and Receiving Stolen Property.  Additional details related to the charges will not be released at this time, due to the continuing investigation.

Detectives from the Casino Gaming Bureau are working closely with local agencies to identify additional co-conspirators and recover additional evidence.  The case will be prosecuted by the Division of Criminal Justice within the Office of the Attorney General.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the New Jersey State Police Casino Gaming Bureau at (609) 441-7464.

Charges are merely accusations and the suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
