Continuing Education Credits Earned Post License Renewal

Attention All LSRP License Holders:

Be advised that the Board recently approved a policy whereby any Continuing Education Credits (CECs) earned after the closing date for submitting a license renewal application can be applied to the next license term. This policy formalizes and clarifies the issue regarding whether CECs earned after a renewal application is due, but before license expiration, can be applied toward the next license term.

Also, because the statutorily mandated timeframe in SRRA for submitting a renewal application is no sooner than 120 days and no later than 90 days before license expiration, this approved policy states that CECs can only be counted beginning the day after the close of the application period, NOT the day after submission of the renewal application. In other words, CECs earned beginning the 89th day before your license expires can be counted towards the next license term.

Accordingly:

  • License holders with a July 9, 2015 expiration date can apply CECs earned beginning April 10, 2015 toward their next license term.
  • License holders with an October 22, 2015 expiration date can apply CECs earned beginning July 25, 2015 toward their next license term.
  • License holders with a December 20, 2015 expiration date can apply CECs earned beginning September 22, 2015 toward their next license term.
  • License holders with a February 25, 2016 expiration date can apply CECs earned beginning November 28, 2015 toward their next license term.
  • License holders with another expiration date can apply CECs earned toward their next license term beginning the 89th day before their license expires.
