The winning submissions will be used as part of the Council's public relations, education, and outreach campaign to reduce stigma through Respect, Understanding and Change.

2007 Logo Contest Entries

In 2007, the Governor’s Council on Mental Health Stigma invited students from colleges and universities across the state to participate in a logo contest.   It presented an extraordinary opportunity for a creative collaboration that would energize the Council’s mission, while offering students a vehicle through which they can showcase their talent.

The results were nothing less than outstanding.  The students’ expressions of the subject of stigma were beautifully and thoughtfully executed.  With so many compelling designs to choose from, selecting a winning logo was quite the challenge.  Elizabeth Regan of Cumberland Community College was the first prize winner, with Xiomara Serrano of Mercer County Community College and Donna Peterson of Bergen County Community College chosen as runners up.

Because the collective body of work was so meaningful, we collected all the entries and displayed them at the event held in May to announce the contest winners.  The work of all the students helped to build awareness of the issue of mental health stigma in communities throughout the state.  With our website complete, we wanted all New Jerseyans to be able to view the results of the talent and passion put forth for this initiative.  The additional entries came from the following colleges and universities:

AtlanticCape Community College
BloomfieldCollege
The Chubb Institute
HudsonCounty Community College
KeanUniversity
MiddlesexCounty College
