Welcome to the 63rd Army Band home page. We are stationed at the National Guard Training Center in Sea Girt, New Jersey, and are proud to have some of the area's finest professional and amateur musicians as our members. The soldier/musicians of the 63rd meet one weekend each month for rehearsals and performances, and then go on a two-week concert tour each summer. The 63rd, featuring its Concert Band, Jazz Band, Marching Band, and small ensembles, performs regularly for audiences throughout the New Jersey area.
Every type of military unit has a mission and this includes Army Bands. Army bands promote readiness by performing music that promotes troop morale and unit esprit. They provide music for troop gatherings and activities, military and religious ceremonies, and civil affairs such as parades and other public events. Army Bands also contribute significantly to the combat effort by developing and maintaining the morale and esprit de corps of friendly forces and by promoting support U.S. and allied forces. Our job is to perform this mission for the New Jersey area in peacetime, wartime and in situations deemed necessary by the Governor of New Jersey.
Currently we have openings in our flute, clarinet, trombone, percussion, and guitar sections!
