Dependent family members may travel space available with or without if stationed outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) their sponsor only in OCONUS areas or to and from the Continental United States (CONUS) when the member is serving on active duty. No other Space-A travel is offered to Guard family members.  Guard members only can fly almost anywhere in the continental United States on a Space Available (Space A) basis. With required forms, Reserve ID Card and DD Form 1853, Authentication of Reserve Status. Passengers are processed on a "first-come", "first-serve" basis with other Space A travelers.  Upon retirement, Space A Travel is available to retired personnel on worldwide basis to include spouses.  For more information about travel on military aircraft visit the following web site

GOVERNMENT QUARTERS: Members and their families may use government quarters while on vacation on an "as available" basis. A Military Travel Guide is available for purchase at the PX.  PARK PASSES: All Active New Jersey National Guard Members are entitled to Division of Parks and Forestry State Park Passes. When parking fees are in effect this pass entitles the NJNG member (and passengers) free parking at all New Jersey State Parks, Forests, Recreation Areas and Historic Sites (Does not pertain to Campground fees) ID Card must be shown with this Pass.

FREE COLLEGE CREDITS: Guard members are entitled to 12 free credits at State or County Colleges. There are many other programs available to Guard members please contact the education office at 609-562-0975 or on the web at: www.state.nj.us/military/education College Scholarships are available from the Officers Association, and the NCO Association of New Jersey. See your units for details and applications.  NEW JERSEY MILITARY ACADEMY: Free use of the Beach Facilities at Sea Girt to include bathhouse Facility. One of New Jersey finest beaches and it's FREE.  While at Sea Girt visit the New Jersey National Guard Museum and see the history of the National Guard and the military to include vehicles, weapons, pictures, uniforms, and other memorabilia.  Vacation Spots As a member of the National Guard you are entitled to use a variety of the Armed Forces Recreation Centers around the world.
