NJ Department of Military and Veterans Affairs
National Guard Militia Museum of New Jersey

In 2015, we embark upon the Museumís 35th year of operation. It promises to be a significant year of rebuilding for our organization, as we continue the Superstorm Sandy recovery process in Sea Girt, and the relocation efforts begun last year in Lawrenceville. Again at this time of year, we would like to invite you and your members to volunteer at our museums, to help us keep the doors open, and to become involved in some specific aspect or at some level.

Members of the volunteer staff function as docents, museum educators, carpenters, electricians, painters, veteran interviewers, and archivists. There are many docent opportunities on weekdays, weekends and holidays; or alternatively, you may want to participate in other important activities that are vital to the goals of the Museum and better fit your available time schedules, interests or expertise. To keep visitors coming back year after year, we continually endeavor to improve our exhibits and displays to keep them fresh and interesting. Our volunteers are the engine that brings the National Guard Militia Museum of New Jersey to life, and they are critically essential to the development and installation of exhibits.

With opportunities presently available in Sea Girt and Lawrenceville, we encourage you to join our work in preserving New Jersey's military history and telling the stories of our state's soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen.

If you are interested in contributing your talents in these or other areas, and would like to volunteer at the Sea Girt Museum or the Lawrenceville Museum in some capacity, please complete the Volunteer form.

Please contact us at (732) 974-5966 if you have any questions.
