Rahway Resident Pops The Question To Girlfriend During Military Ceremony
In what has to be one for the record, Rahway resident Lt. Col. Robert F. Vicci proposed to his girlfriend Lisa M. Patlen, of Wayne, N.J., and assumed command of the 1st Battalion, 150th Aviation, New Jersey Army National Guard, located at the Army Aviation Support Facility #1 at Trenton-Mercer Airport on Nov. 3.
“As our role of the New Jersey National Guard changes, I wanted to reinforce the family values that are so important to us. These include commitments to Lisa, my family and friends, my unit, the New Jersey National Guard and my country,” said Lt. Col. Vicci. “I hope that with Lisa joining my National Guard family we will both better enrich the lives of our troops.”
Ms. Patlen is a freelance interior designer, and has known Lt. Col. Vicci for two years. Lt. Col. Vicci is a traditional drilling Guardsman with more than 20 years of service and is a Senior Army Aviator qualified in the UH-60, UH-1, OH-58 and OH-6 aircraft. In his civilian occupation, he serves as the Director of Facilities for the Trammell Crow Company.
The 1st Battalion, 150th Aviation has a complement of 266 personnel, which support and fly OH-58 Kiowa helicopters with a federal mission of providing attack and observation assets. The Battalion officially stands down in December and stands up as the 1-150th General Support Aviation Battalion in January.
