50th Brigade Opens New Headquarters


The 50th Brigade, New Jersey Army National Guard will conduct an official ceremony to mark the grand opening of its new headquarters at the National Guard Armory on Eggerts Crossing Rd in Lawrenceville on Sunday, December 7th, 2003 at 11:30 a.m.

The 50th Brigade previously was headquartered at the National Guard’s Consolidated Headquarters Building at Fort Dix and is under the command of Colonel Stephen J. Hines of Bellmawr, N.J.

Brigade units currently are stationed in Atlantic City, Burlington, Cherry Hill, Dover, Fort Dix, Freehold, Hackettstown, Jersey City, Lawrenceville, Morristown, Mount Holly, Newark, Newton, Port Murray, Riverdale, Toms River, Vineland, West Orange, Woodbridge, Woodbury, and Woodstown. The 50th Brigade, which comprises approximately two-thirds of the New Jersey Army National Guard includes the 2nd Battalion, 102nd Armor; the 2nd Battalion, 113th Infantry; 3rd Battalion, 112th Field Artillery; the 1st Battalion, 114th Infantry, and the 5th Squadron, 117th Cavalry.

The Grand Opening ceremonies also will include the opening ceremony for the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs’ 3rd Family Assistance Center. Participants / guests will include Brigadier General Glenn K. Rieth, The Adjutant General of New Jersey, local elected officials, community representatives, senior members of both the New Jersey Army and Air National Guard, local veterans organizations, the Salvation Army, and Family Program and Family Support Program personnel from around the state.
