Farewell Ceremony For N.J. National Guard Soldiers Bound For Iraq

WHAT: Farewell Ceremony for 2,850 deploying N.J. National Guard troops of the 50th Infantry Brigade Combat Team
WHEN: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 14
WHERE: Fort Dix, N.J.
Details – On Saturday, June 14 at 10:30 a.m., Governor Jon S. Corzine and Maj. Gen. Glenn K. Rieth will be key speakers for the departure ceremony for the 50th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. Citizen-Soldiers from all 21 counties are leaving New Jersey for mobilization training in Texas, and then on to Iraq. The ceremony will feature the NJ Army National Guard Parachute team, Air National Guard F-16 flyover, unfurling of Brigade's colors and a Pass and Review of the troops.
Media MUST respond no later than 2 p.m., Friday, June 13 in order to gain entry onto Fort Dix, and be at the Wrightstown Gate between 8:15 and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 14. |
