Morristown Armory To Host Change Of Command, Freedom Salute And Holiday Dinner
WHO/WHAT: The leadership of the 3rd Battalion, 112th Field Artillery, New Jersey Army National Guard will change hands followed by a Freedom Salute ceremony for Soldiers that served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. A holiday dinner for Soldiers and their family members will follow awards.
WHEN: Sunday, December 18 starting at 11 a.m.
WHERE: National Guard Armory, 430 Jockey Hollow Road, Morristown
DETAILS: The program begins with the change of command at 11 a.m. as 3rd -112th Field Artillery commander Lt. Col. Robert C. Schofield passes battalion colors to incoming commander, Lt. Col. Henri R. Schepens. At noon an awards program will begin with several Soldiers receiving Freedom Salute awards that are shared with spouses and family members. At 12:30 a holiday dinner with a visit from Santa Claus will start. Family members are invited to the dinner and the battalion has invited the families of the 3rd -112th Field Artillery Soldiers deployed to the European theater of operations for a second holiday season to attend.
