Proposed Amendments to N.J.A.C. 5A:5

New Jersey Veterans Facilities

The New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs, Office of the Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Glenn K. Rieth, has proposed amendments to the chapter governing New Jersey Veterans Facilities.

The New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs proposes amendments to N.J.A.C. 5A:5, pursuant to authority of N.J.S.A. 38A:3-2.2, 2b, 6(o), 6.4, 6.5, 6.6, 6.8, 6.9 and 6.12. Such amendments address changes in insurance practices, adjust computation of the care and maintenance fee for New Jersey veteran facilities and correct oversights in the 2006 revision. The proposed amendments will reduce publicly supported funding for veteran home residents who can afford to pay for their care or a portion of their care.

The entire notice of proposed changes will be published in the New Jersey Register on July 7, 2008.  The public has 60 days in which to comment.   Persons wishing to make comments may do so in writing to:
